The problem
Adding screens on an open-plan floor that is busy all day, fed from a central source, without running video cabling through the offices.
The cabinet
A 6U cabinet with shelves, a 24-port patch panel and labelled Cat6A patch cords bring the floor’s video network into one clean, easy-to-service place.
The cabling
Seven plenum Cat6 links, terminated on keystone jacks and wall plates, pulled and tested to every screen location.
The video network
AVPro Edge MXnet 1G decoders behind the screens receive 4K60 video over the network, with IR, RS-232 and USB extension. We configured the encoder and decoders, then added three decoders the following month.
The result
Screens you add, move or reroute from the network instead of recabling.
